At Royal Mini Storage, INC., we understand how overwhelming and stressful the moving process is. Whether you are moving into a home or business, there are certain tips that will make the process as smooth and as efficient as possible.
Below are specific tips through out the whole moving process that will allow you to best utilize your time, storage space, and money!
- Pack heavy objects towards the bottom.
- Wrap all fragile items separately.
- Drain all liquids from any items with engines if storing long term.
- Make sure each box is packed as full as possible to help with stacking process.
- Belongings that absorb dampness should be stored off the floor of any storage.
- Do not store items susceptible to dampness adjacent to exterior walls or doors.
- Valuable objects should be placed out of view.
- If you are storing a refrigerator, please be sure that it is drained of water before storing and that the doors are left ajar.
- Flammables or food is strictly prohibited.
- Please read your rental agreement for RMS, INC. rules and regulations.
- Be familiar of facility rules and regulations.
- Take advantage of our wholesale prices for packing supplies.
- Try to visit your space from time to time, especially if you do not use your storage regularly.
Commonly Used Storage Terms:
Disc Lock vs. Pad Lock:
- Disc Locks offer the highest level of security, with its circular shape this lock covers most of the deadbolt and is offered in our storage facilities.
- Pad Locks are generic “u-shaped” locks that are sold at most retailers, which cover a fraction of the deadbolt.
Office Hours vs. Gate Hours
- Office Hours are the hours of operation for the office where a residential manager is present to assist you.
- Gate hours are the hours that the storage facility gate is open, where tenants can access their storage units.
Drive up vs. Inside Unit
- Drive up units resemble units such as your own garage. You can drive up to the unit.
- Inside units are units within a hallway.
On Site Manager
- These are managers that live in a residence on the storage facility property. Our managers are onsite 24 hours a day.
